The Chargers RB did an original dance/rap video called the "Electric Glide," a Nike viral video that apparently was done a couple years back and only crept out onto YouTube within the last couple weeks.
Perhaps the timing was not so great, since the Jets were able to roundly mock LT's video on the sidelines, in the game and after the 17-14 win yesterday.
"That’s something that motivated us all week, like he was already writing the Super Bowl Shuffle, his version of the 'Super Bowl Shuffle,' " Shaun Ellis said. "That motivated us a little bit to make sure when he got the ball, he didn’t get anything. We were just talking about things throughout the game, guys making a tackle and saying a quote from his song. Just having fun with it."
Bart Scott went a little more Simon Cowell on LT's rap.
"I thought it made the 'Super Bowl Shuffle' look like the best song ever written," Scott said. "I don’t know why his publicist let him put that out. But I can get with the electric slide; I’m more down for, ‘Waving to my momma.’ But Mark (Sanchez) said it was terrible. Julio Iglesias said it was terrible.
"If (LT) likes it, I love it. But at least get somebody to ghost-write it. He’s a pretty popular guy, Nike cleats and all that stuff. I thought maybe at least he could get Jigga (Jay-Z) to write him a hook."
