Even Tom Brady has taken notice of Antonio Cromartie.
During his weekly radio interview on Boston' WEEI, the New England quarterback called Cromartie "a phenomenal player" and complimented the job he's done in the absence of Darrelle Revis.
"As good a corner as there is in the league and as good as corner I've faced," Brady said of Cromartie, when asked if the Jets' defensive game plan will change without Revis, their All-Pro cornerback.
"But their team has always been built around their defense and not just one player. He's a great player and I don't want to discount him, but they've got other great players, too. Antonio Cromartie is a great player and they have some guys on the line that can rush and a solid group of linebackers. It's going to be a good challenge for us, it feels like we're playing good defenses every week and the Jets are no different."
Cromartie, as you may recall, hasn't been so complimentary of Brady.
The cornerback called the quarterback an "a--hole" three days before the Jets stunned the Gillette Stadium crowd with a 28-21 divisional round playoff win on January 16, 2011.
Earlier in the week, Cromartie was asked by the Daily News about Brady pointing to the Jets' sideline after throwing a touchdown pass on the first play of the fourth quarter in an evential 45-3 Patriots win on Dec. 6.
"We see that a lot. He does it a lot," Cromartie told the newspaper. "That's the kind of guy he is. We really don't give a damn, to tell you the truth."
When asked what "kind of guy" Brady is, the cornerback replied: "A--hole."
