Add another storyline to the Jets' Week 3 meeting with the Dolphins.
DE Marques Douglas is headed to Miami, thinning out the Jets' defensive line corps. The veteran free agent agreed to a two-year deal with the Dolphins worth a reported $2.5 million today, ending his tenure with the Jets after just one season.
The Jets maintained interest in Douglas, a 33-year-old run specialist who totaled 62 tackles and 1 1/2 sacks this past season. But Miami's defensive line needs increased a wee bit after the Dolphins suffered a pair of hits with defensive end Phillip Merling’s season-ending Achilles’ injury and the sudden retirement of ex-Jet Jason Ferguson.
