The Jets have activated quarterback Davis Webb from the practice squad and placed tight end Neal Sterling on season-ending injured reserve.

Webb will serve as the backup to Josh McCown Sunday when the Jets face the Bills at MetLife Stadium. Sam Darnold suffered a strained foot in last week’s loss in Miami and has been in a walking boot all week. McCown is starting in his place.

The Jets signed Webb to their practice squad after the Giants waived him in September. The Giants drafted Webb in the third round in 2017, and surprisingly cut him just before the start of the regular season.

Sterling sustained a concussion two weeks ago in the Jets’ loss in Chicago. He caught six passes for 47 yards this season.
