Mark Sanchez made good on his word.

The third-year signal-caller has organized a team-wide workout that kicked off today at a secret, undisclosed location in New Jersey, a source confirmed. Roughly 40-45 players were in attendance, and it was for players all across the board, unlike Sanchez's "Jets West" camp out in Southern California in May that featured strictly skill positions.

Typically, the Jets would be immersed in their mandatory minicamp this week, their final practices as a unit before the start of training camp in July. But with the ongoing lockout, they're forced to go about things this way.

Speaking at Justin Tuck's charity event June 2, Sanchez said he was anticipating a large turnout whenever he did call for his teammates to come together for a workout.

"Hopefully fifty-something," he said then. "That’s what we’re shooting for. You can’t bank on every free agent showing up. We understand that. It’s the business side of things. And we happen to be one of those teams with a couple of handfuls of free agents, so we’ll figure it out.”

Apparently, they have.

This week's workout comes less than two weeks after a contingent of the Jets defensive linemen -- Sione Pouha, Mike DeVito, Muhammad Wilkerson, Jamaal Westerman and Ropati Pitoitua -- got together in New Jersey.
