Mike Munchak is going to have to look elsewhere for a new offensive coordinator.

The Jets have denied the Titans' request to interview offensive line/assistant head coach Bill Callahan for their vacant offensive coordinator position, according to ESPN. Munchak, Tennessee's new head coach, needs a replacement after firing Mike Heimerdinger, who's continuing cancer treatment after being diagnosed last year, on Tuesday.

Heimerdinger was the Jets offensive coordinator in 2005, preceding Brian Schottenheimer, who's held the post since 2006 and was the subject of criticism for some of the happenings in their 24-19 loss to the Steelers in the AFC Championship game.

It's the second time in the past two weeks the Jets elected not to let one of Rex Ryan's assistants interview with another team. They also wouldn't grant the Raiders' request to speak with defensive backs coach Dennis Thurman for their defensive coordinator position two weeks ago.
