Jets finalize coaching staff

The Jets filled out their coaching staff Thursday, hiring Bobby April III as their quality control/defense coach and Brian VanGorder as their new linebackers coach.

VanGorder, Auburn's defensive coordinator in 2012, held the same position with the Atlanta Falcons from 2008-1.

April spent the past two seasons as the Eagles' quality control/defense coach. 

Earlier this week, the Jets announced the firing of offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo and the hiring of Louie Aguiar (assistant special teams), Mike Devlin (offensive line), Steve Hagen (tight ends), Ron Heller (assistant offensive line), Pierre Ngo (assistant strength and conditioning) and Jeff Weeks (defensive assistant/defensive line/linebackers).

Tony Sparano, Jr., the son of the Jets' recently-fired offensive coordinator, will remain on staff as an offensive intern.
