The Jets officially announced Revis has been placed on season-ending IR and the corresponding move for Antonio Allen.

This should come as no surprise, but the Jets have officially placed Darrelle Revis on injured reserve.

Rex Ryan said during his Friday presser that the All-Pro cornerback will undergo surgery next week -- likely on Thursday. The team has yet to announce a corresponding roster move, but sources confirmed Revis has already has been taken off the active roster and rookie draft pick, safety Antonio Allen, has been added from the practice squad.

Although the Pro Bowl defensive back tore his ACL three weeks ago, Ryan claimed he wanted to wait before making a decision on Revis' status in case there was a "0.002 percent" chance the corner would make it back in time for the Super Bowl.

But the Jets were forced to make a roster move this week after safety Eric Smith suffered a knee sprain in Wednesday. “With our time situation we’re going to need that roster spot,” Ryan said.

In otheri injury news: WR Santonio Holmes (Lisfranc) underwent surgery Wednesday and LB Josh Mauga (torn pec) went under the knife on Friday.
