The New York Post reported a few minutes ago that the Jets have, in fact, fired Guge.

To the surprise of no one, the Jets reportedly will release offensive line coach Dave DeGuglielmo.

According to the web site, Football Scoop, the team plans to replace Guge with current tight ends coach Mike Devlin. Last month, the Daily News reported Guge had been fired, but a team spokesman denied the move, adding that the OL coach was still at his desk working at the time of the report.

Guge, known best for his combative nature with reporters, followed former Jets offensive coordinator Tony Sparano from the Dolphins.

The Jets had the third-best offensive line unit in 2012, behind the Patriots (2nd) and 49ers (1st.), according to The site also ranked the unit seventh in pass-blocking, third in run-blocking and third and in penalties.
