According to Giants PR man Pat Hanlon, Saturday's preseason game between the Jets and Giants has been moved up from 7 p.m. to 2 p.m. due to the expectant inclement weather and Hurricane Irene.
Hanlon -- who's twitter handle is @giantspathanlon -- tweeted this a few minutes ago: "Due to the obvious concerns regarding weather forecast, game time for #Giants-#Jets on Saturday at MetLife Stadium has been moved to 2 pm."
Giants President and CEO John Mara released this brief statement regarding Saturday's game time change:
"We moved the start time based on the weather forecast and to give everybody an opportunity to get home safely after the game. There are, obviously, many issues to consider. Our players played a game on Monday night, the stadium personnel has to secure the building post-game and, most importantly, the safety and welfare of Giants and Jets fans. We felt like this is the right thing to do."
