Wide receiver Santonio Holmes, who is still recovering from season-ending foot surgery, has been placed on the Jets' active/physically unable to perform list (PUP), according to a team official.
The move is not a surprise, since Holmes has yet to resume practice since undergoing the surgery to repair a lisfranc injury.Because Holmes is on active PUP, he will count toward the roster, meaning he can be activated at any time. The Jets report to training camp on Thursday.
Holmes said over the weekend his condition is improving, but he wouldn't commit to playing in the regular season opener against the Buccaneers. There is no timetable for when Holmes might resume practicting.
