Long snapper Tanner Purdum re-signed with the Jets, the team announced Thursday.
According to Purdum's agent, it's a two-year deal.
"Thankful and excited to continue my career as a Jet! #GreatestCityOnEarth," Purdum tweeted.
Purdum, who became an unrestricted free agent on Tuesday, isn't a big-name roster guy, but he's a vital piece on special teams. According to the Jets' website, the 29-year-old has made 783 snaps without a single fumble, wild snap or penalty.
Purdum signed with the Chiefs as an undrafted free agent in April 2009, but was waived four months later. He signed a three-year deal with the Jets the following offseason.
