CORTLAND, N.Y. - Dee Milliner thinks he's the best cornerback in the league. So what does Rex Ryan think about that?

"I hope he's right," the Jets coach said. "That would be great. I'll sign up for that, absolutely."

Milliner, a second-year player who has only 13 NFL games under his belt, said in a published report Saturday that he would never say that another cornerback was better.

"The best corner in the league? Me . . . I'm not going to say somebody that plays in the same position is better than me. Don't care if they've been in the league 10 years and I've been here five months. That's how it's going to go. I'm the best."

Quarterback watch

Geno Smith had 15 reps with the first team yesterday and Michael Vick had four. It wasn't a great day for either player, though there were a number of drops and some breakdowns in protection. Smith was only 4-for-10. Vick was 4-for-7. Neither player had a turnover.

Colon activated off PUP list

Starting right guard Willie Colon was activated from the physically unable to perform list and participated in practice on a limited basis.

Colon missed organized team activities and minicamp after undergoing arthroscopic knee surgery on his knee. He also tore his biceps in last season's finale at Miami, but his knee rehab was the reason he began camp on the PUP list.

"I'm good, for the first day," Colon said. "Just trying to get acclimated to football and all [the] things I need to do next to be efficient. Each day is a progression. Right now [I'm] just taking it slow. Trying not to have any setbacks. That's the key right now."
