Antwan Barnes officially is a New York Jet, a source confirmed to Newsday.
The former Chargers outside linebacker signed a three-year deal worth about $4 million.
A trigger-happy Barnes tweeted to all of Jets Nation Monday that he had been signed. However, his announcement was a tad premature. Both sides were still hammering out the final details of his contract.
But in the end, the Jets pulled off the deal.
The Broncos and Dolphins also were reportedly interested in the pass-rush specialist, who registered 18.5 sacks the past three seasons.
