The Jets have reached an injury settlement with fullback John Conner and have promoted linebacker Marcus Dowtin from the practice squad.

Conner has played in just three games due to nagging injuries this season – first an MCL sprain that he aggravated in Week 2 against the Steelers, and most recently, a hamstring injury suffered in the first half of the Jets’ 34-0 loss to the 49ers.

Ryan dubbed the 25-year-old fullback “The Terminator” during their 2010 appearance on the HBO series “Hard Knocks.” But Conner hasn’t delivered many bruising blocks this season due to injury. Not to mention, the team seems pretty high on Lex Hilliard, the free agent they signed Oct. 2.

Ryan said the injury settlement doesn't proclude the Jets from bringing back Conner at some point.

"Quite honestly," he said, "we needed (roster) spots.”
