Jets general manager John Idzik confirmed the Jets’ recent meeting with free-agent kick returner/wide receiver Josh Cribbs, but said the former Cleveland Brown isn’t yet healed from a meniscus tear.

“We had a nice visit with Joshua,” Idzik said Tuesday at a celebrity charity event at BTIG in Manhattan. “We got to get the physical on him, so it was a very informative visit.”

Asked if Cribbs was healthy, the Jets general manager paused slightly.

“I don’t think he's quite there yet. But he’s probably getting close,” Idzik said.

Cribbs visited the Jets last Wednesday, before making his way to East Rutherford for a meeting with the Giants the following day. He’s garnered interest from several teams, including Arizona – but he failed his physical with the team last month.

However, prior to his visit with the Jets, Cribbs passed a physical with the Oakland Raiders and was offered a contract, according to NFL Network.

Cribbs led the league in return yards in 2007 (1,809) and totaled 1,178 return yards in 2012.
