Another “Beckham” plans to give it his all in the Big Apple.
Terron Beckham, a distant cousin of Giants star wide receiver Odell, Jr., will try out for the Jets during rookie minicamp later this week, according to his agent.
“What a time, to be alive” “. . . Your boy is blessed,” Terron Beckham posted on social media Saturday.
“ . . . I am so thankful for this opportunity . . . GOD IS SO GOOD MAN . . . I am shaking right now . . . Thank you @nyjets for giving me this opportunity . . . You will not regret it I swear . . . Going to be a workhorse . . . #tryout”
The lesser-known Beckham (5-11, 223) played high school football but never made it to the field in college. He attended Division III Stevenson University in Maryland, but reportedly was forced to leave the school because of financial reasons.
He has worked as a personal trainer and fitness model, but remains committed to achieving his dreams of becoming an NFL running back.
Despite his long odds of making a pro roster, his athletic gifts are unquestioned. Beckham, 23, reportedly dazzled five NFL teams at a pro day workout earlier this month, posting a 4.47 40-yard dash, a 4.28 short shuttle, and benching 225 pounds 36 times.
Because he wasn’t eligible for the NFL draft, he can sign with any team as a free agent.
