According to his Twitter page, Antwan Barnes is now a New York Jet. Sort of.

The former Chargers outside linebacker tweeted the news Monday afternoon: "Green and white it is," Barned wrote. "...just want to thank coach rex coach DT and mr idzilk [sic] for the opportunity..and to the fans I won't let u down #jets"

A short time later, however, he clarified a deal isn't done: "Wait a minute...not official talks now...#letsgetadealdone"

Barnes, an unrestricted free agent, visited the Jets last week but left without signing a deal.

The seven-year veteran -- and noted pass rusher -- recorded 72 tackles and 18.5 sacks during the past three seasons in San Diego.

Despite several defections in recent days, the Jets have added four free agents this offseason: QB David Garrard, RB Mike Goodson, OL Willie Colon and NT Antonio Garay. The team also re-signed free agents K Nick Folk and LB Josh Mauga.
