Redskins FB, Amityville native leaves in 3rd QTR with illness

Darrel Young, who played for Amityville High School from 2002-2004, has been fighting for a fullback position with the Redskins this preseason and left tonight's game in the third quarter with an illness.

He was in for a handful of plays and his return is questionable.

Though it was not the case, It looked like Young would get a chance to play big minutes tonight when starter Mike Sellers was ruled out of the game because of a knee injury and rookie fullback/tight end Dennis Morris missed practice this week with a knee injury.

He was a four-year starter at Villanova and posted 244 tackles, including 19.5 for a loss, six sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and three blocked kicks.

Newsday named Young a first-team All-Long Island selection in 2004.
