Jets running back Mike Goodson was “incoherent, slobbering and had vomited all over himself as well as the interior of the vehicle,” at the time of his May 17 arrest, according to a New Jersey State Police affidavit that was obtained by USA TODAY Sports.

Goodson, 25, appeared in court Wednesday to plead not guilty to gun and drug charges stemming from his arrest last week. He was arrested, along with 31-year-old Garant Evans, after the SUV they were driving in was found parked in the left-center lane on Interstate 80 in Denville, N.J.

According to the affidavit, state police found a baggie of marijuana in Goodson’s pants pocket, a loaded Taurus Millennium handgun and drug paraphernalia in the car. The gun, a .45-caliber semi-automatic, contained "4 Speer rounds and one Winchester hollow-point bullet." Evans gave permission for the vehicle to be searched, according to the report.

Goodson, who was taken to a hospital before he was brought back to the station for booking, later posted bail of $50,000.
