Jets cornerback Darrelle Revis was ticketed Thursday morning for speeding and careless driving, according to the Livingston (N.J.) police department.
The incident was first reported by JetsConfidential.com.
Published reports said the cornerback, who is nursing a hamstring injury, was headed to the team’s practice facility in Florham Park.
“He was issued two motor vehicle tickets,” Livingston police captain Jeffrey Payne told Newsday. “It was an uneventful motor vehicle stop.”
No other details -- such as how fast Revis was driving -- were given.
The cornerback’s status for Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos is uncertain due to the hamstring injury he suffered in the Jets’ Week 2 victory over New England. Revis is expected to travel with the team, head coach Rex Ryan said this week.
