Matt Schaub spent Tuesday night and part of Wednesday hospitalized to treat a bursa sac injury in his knee, but Jets coach Rex Ryan doesn't expect that to affect the Texans quarterback's availability for Sunday's game.
"I expect him to play," Ryan said. "And if he doesn't, that's fine with us. Clearly the backup is not going to be as good as the starter. But I expect to see Schaub."
Schaub was back at practice Thursday, reportedly taking half the snaps with the first team. Dan Orlovsky and Matt Leinart are behind Schaub on Houston's depth chart.
"You'll do your due dilligence and watch them, but we're not going to game plan him," Ryan said. "If they want to go the other way, we'll be able to adjust on the fly. It'll be a good thing for us if he can't play."
