FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Ryan Fitzpatrick not only got to meet Larry David on Wednesday, but he delivered a well-timed one-liner at the “Seinfeld” and “Curb Your Enthusiasm” creator’s expense.

David recently tweaked the Jets quarterback, saying Fitzpatrick should shave his overgrown bushy beard, and said he should be the Jets offensive coordinator. On Wednesday, he finally got to see his team in action. The sitcom star watched much of practice alongside owner Woody Johnson. Though David didn’t speak to reporters, he did chat with Fitzpatrick, a self-described “Seinfeld guy.”

“We hashed it out,” the quarterback joked, when asked about his recently-trimmed facial hair. “I don’t know if I’ve got to take it all the way off. He’s a tough guy to read.”

Fitzpatrick — who called the “Soup Nazi” episode “a classic one” and listed “The Lip Reader” episode as one his favorite Seinfeld episodes — also told David about his 2012 cameo appearance on the sitcom “The League.”

“He said, ‘Was it hard (acting)?’ And I said: ‘Yeah, it’s a lot like a normal person thinking they could come in and be an offensive coordinator.’ So I actually got him to chuckle, which is great. That was my goal for the day.”

Could the veteran quarterback cut it on “Curb Your Enthusiasm”?

“I don’t know,” Fitzpatrick said of making a guest appearance in the future. “If they need somebody to make fun of then yeah I’d probably be pretty good at that.”
