FLORHAM PARK, N.J. — Sam-ta Claus came to town.

Sam Darnold dressed up as Santa at  a New Jersey shopping mall recently for Bleacher Report’s "Simms & Lefkoe" show. In the video released by Bleacher Report, hosts Chris Simms and Adam Lefkoe dressed as Santa’s helpers while Darnold disguised himself as jolly old Saint Nick, white beard and all, inside the Livingston Mall.

The Jets quarterback let the children sit on his lap, said “Ho-ho-ho” in a deep voice, and asked them what they wanted for Christmas.

Two kids told him “a Saquon Barkley jersey.”

When one boy wearing a Jets’ No. 14 jersey with Darnold on the back sat on his lap, Sam-ta said, “That’s a really cool jersey you got on there. Who’s your favorite player on the Jets?”

When the boy responded, Darnold or Jamal Adams. Darnold said, “I think maybe one day you’ll be able to meet one of those guys. Maybe next year, though.”

Darnold then threw passes to some of the kids before going to change out of his Santa attire.

He returned in his Jets jersey, a green and white Santa hat, kept his red pants on and met the kids and led them in a chant of “J-E-T-S. Jets. Jets. Jets.”
