Brian Schottenheimer is right where he wants to be.
During the offseason, the Jets offensive coordinator, along with defensive coordinator Mike Pettine, received a contract extension through at least the 2012 season.
Schottenheimer turned down a shot to interview for the Bills head coaching gig after the 2009 season before it ultimately was given to Chan Gailey, and has no regrets for not making that move.
In fact, he professed his affection for the Jets when asked about the extension.
"I love it here," Schottenheimer said. "I love working for Rex. I've had some opportunities to go and look other places and some things have come my way head coaching wise, but I'm thrilled to be a Jet. I think we've got something special here and I was pleased that they wanted to do that.
"I was honored."
