SNY, Jets extend deal

SNY, the Jets' programming partner for the past five seasons, announced an extension of the deal Tuesday.

The arrangement has benefitted the channel, the team and fans, most importantly providing a thorough postgame show that includes podium and locker room interviews.

The only thing SNY can't offer is game highlights, for contractual reasons. But during the playoffs, it is unlikey any fan who cares enough to watch the postgame did not care enough to watch the game itself.

Here is some stuff SNY sent about its coverage plans for this week:

SNY’s coverage of the AFC Championship Game will include airing every press conference live – as well as Jets personnel appearing on SNY shows throughout the week.

Beginning Tuesday, SNY will feature defensive doordinator Mike Pettine on Jets Extra Point at 4:30 p.m. Damien Woody joins host Jonas Schwartz and Joe Benigno on Daily News Live at 5 p.m., followed by Tony Richardson on Geico SportsNite at 10.

On Thursday, Brandon Moore will join The WheelHouse at 5:30 p.m. GM Mike Tannenbaum will debate Chris Carlin and Adam Schein on Loud Mouths at 6, which will be followed by a special one-hour edition of Jets Game Plan at 6:30, featuring guest appearances by Santonio Holmes and Sione Pouha.

Immediately following Sunday’s game, SNY will air a special edition of Jets Post Game Live, which features exclusive access to Coach Rex Ryan’s closed-door address to the team after the game.
