Former Browns kick returner Josh Cribbs spent Wednesday with the Jets, sources confirmed to Newsday.

But they aren't the only team in play.

“Several” NFL clubs are interested in the free agent, who underwent offseason knee surgery,  according to the NFL Network. Cribbs, a two-time Pro Bowler, received an offer from the Raiders Monday after passing his physical during his visit to Oakland. But he, instead, is choosing to test the market by visiting other teams.

Following his visit with the Jets, Cribbs will meet with the Giants, reported Thursday morning.

Cribbs, who’s listed as a wide receiver, has made a name a name for himself in the return game -- and he's shown how explosive he can be when healthy. He led the league in return yards in 2007 (1,809) and totaled 1,178 return yards in 2012. Though there were concerns about his knee, Cribbs appears to be 100 percent healthy now.

Whether he lands on the Jets roster remains to be seen. But if he does, his presence will have a big impact on Joe McKnight, whose role as a running back has steadily diminished in recent years. As the Jets primary kick returner, McKnight has totaled 1,073 and 1,072 return yards, respectively, in 2011 and 2012.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter first reported Cribbs’ visit with the Jets, but as PFT noted, the wide receiver/kick returner arrived Tuesday in the New York/New Jersey area and met with the Jets Wednesday.
