Plaxico Burress is headed back to Pittsburgh.

The Steelers signed the former Jets and Giants wide receiver Tuesday, after watching him work out.

Despite not having played since 2011 with the Jets, Burress will help bolster the Steelers' banged-up receiving corps. Antonio Brown is nursing lready was nursing a sprained ankle and ex-Jet Jerricho Cotchery was injured during Sunday night vs. Baltimore.

The team has been dealt its fair share of injuries. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger did not face the Ravens Sunday night because of a rib injury. His backup, Byron Leftwich, played in his absence -- but reportedly suffered fractured ribs in their loss to Baltimore.
