JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- Stephen Hill left Sunday's Jets-Jaguars with a serious knee injury just minutes into the second quarter.
The Jets rookie wide receiver was injured while trying to jockey for position on a third-and-5 pass from starting quarterback Mark Sanchez. The throw fell incomplete, but Jaguars cornerback Derek Cox was flagged for pass interference (a 14-yard penalty). But after Hill got tangled up with the defender, he immediately grabbed his right knee and signaled for trainer John Mellody.
Hill laid on the grass for several minutes as the training staff checked his knee. He then was helped off the field.
His return is questionable, according to the press box announcer.
