Stephen Hill continues to play it safe, refusing aggravate his already tight right hamstring.
The rookie wide receiver, who did not participate in the first day or minicamp, said he and the Jets are playing things day-by-day rather.
“I’ll be back as quickly as I can, whenever that is,” said Hill, who injured his hamstring early last week.
Though the tightness is “nothing big,” he said, there’s no reason to push himself to get back on the field faster.
He ran sprints alongside the width of the field today, alternating turns with injured players Bilal Powell (hamstring) and DaMarcus Ganaway (hip). Hill and the rest of the injured players also did agility drills.
“I felt pretty good, you know, right now,” he said. “I felt it a little bit (during drills), but it wasn’t much, where I would just be falling or anything. Other than that, you know, I looked pretty good sprinting, that’s what (head trainer) John (Mellody) actually told me.”
“They just wanna make sure I’m 100 percent instead of, you know, 85 and you mess up something else,” he said. “Just a little iffy right now. Just don’t wanna hurt it even more.”
Hill, however, isn’t sure if he’ll be forced to miss the rest of minicamp.
“It’s on their call, you know, however I feel,” he said. “It’s frustrating …But, you know, right now I’m just gonna have to take it and whenever I can get a chance to come back, I’ll be ready.”
