Here's the latest trend in the NFL: Insulting Tom Brady the week before you actually play him.

Rex Ryan did it last week, taking a jab at the quarterback by comapring his study habits to cyborg Peyton Manning. and now Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs has done it a week before the Ravens and Patriots could be meeting in the AFC title game.

Suggs was comparing Ben Roethlisberger to other prominent quarterbacks on Sirius XM's MadDog Radio today when he said that Tom Brady has won three Super Bowls. "A questionable three," he called them.

"Oh, you know, you’ve got the tuck rule incident and then you’ve got the videotaping of the other team’s practices," Suggs said. "It’s just like, okay, what’s going on here? You know? But, hey, it is what it is. They won the games no matter how you did it. But, um, it’s whatever.”

Suggs explained where his feelings towards Brady stem from.

“I love Tommy," he said with a chuckle. "I don’t know, I don’t know. I guess it all brewed from when I nicked his knee, I guess, a little bit. I was just, wow, you almost hit a guy and you get flagged? Kind of blew me away. I never knew one man could have so much power. I guess I stand corrected.”

Suggs also gave a theory on why others -- Ryan, Antonio Cromartie -- seem to have ill feelings towards Brady.

"Maybe because he is Tom Brady and he dates supermodels," Suggs said. "That can have a lot to do with it. Like, dang, this guy’s got the world, he’s winning Super Bowls and dating supermodels. It don’t get much better than that. And he gets, you know, rules made for him. He gets to tell the referee when to throw the flag. That’s a hen in a handbasket [sic] right there.”

I don't know what a hen in a handbasket is. But if Suggs is saying it about Brady, well, it can't be good.
