Former Jets quarterback Vinny Testaverde has been selected for induction into the College Football Hall of Fame.
Testaverde -- who played four seasons for the Miami Hurricanes and won the Heisman Trophy as a senior in 1986 -- is one of 12 former players to be selected by the National Football Foundation as part of the latest Hall of Fame class.
He went on to become the No. 1 overall pick in the 1987 NFL draft and played 21 seasons in the NFL -- seven of them with the Jets.
Testaverde's selection was announced Monday on ESPN, but the rest of the class will be announced Tuesday morning during a news conference at the Nasdaq Stock Exchange.
The induction ceremony will occur Dec. 10 in New York City.
