Independent film producer David Dginguerian – who specializes in religious films – has been attempting to lure Tim Tebow to his set, according to TMZ.

Dginguerian sent the former Heisman Trophy winner a letter offering him a role in his new project.

“I would like to extend to you an invitation to star in my next Faith-Based Film,” the producer wrote. ”You are an inspiration to so many on the field and off, and I am certain that your passion will also come through in films.”

The Jets backup quarterback still remains on the roster, though it’s assumed he’ll be released or traded by next month’s NFL draft.

So far, Tebow has had a pretty busy offseason.

He gave an impassioned speech to the Wichita State men’s basketball team Sunday after the Shockers’ upset-win over No. 1 Gonzaga, he created a stir last month after canceling a planned speech at a controversial Dallas church, and he also received an open invitation to join the Arena Football League.

And now, Tebow has a chance to be an actor.
