A source close to Shonn Greene says the running back adamantly denied  advocating for a quarterback change. Greene plans to clarify his statements later today.

That's what Rex Ryan and Mark Sanchez labeled Jets players who ripped their fellow teammates anonymously.

Well, Shonn Greene wasn't afraid to put his name on record, telling Yahoo! Sports Wednesday that it's time the Jets make a change -- at quarterback.

While Ryan, left guard Matt Slauson and others think keeping Sanchez as the starting quarterback gives them the best chance of winning, Greene believes "something's got to change."

And that change is Tim Tebow.

"You feel bad for Mark," the Jets No. 1 running back said, per columnist Mike Silver. "But at the same time you want to win games. We're not here to protect people's feelings. If you want to win games, you've got to try something. If somebody's not getting the job done, you see if somebody else can do it.

"It's the same with coaching or any position. You don't mean to belittle someone or say 'he sucks.' That's just the harsh reality."

Greene also said Tebow looks shaky in practice -- although, that's nothing earth-shattering. Tebow's practice struggles were well-documented during his Denver days.

"He does. I’m not gonna lie," Greene said. "His mechanics, his throwing...not looking like a normal NFL quarterback.

"But you know what? He's a football player. He makes stuff happen."
