Darrelle Revis and Jason Taylor aren't the only Western Pennsylvanians on the Jets roster.
Special teams coordinator Mike Westhoff grew up in the Pittsburgh area and even was a Steelers season ticket holder as a young adult.
"I was a gigantic Steelers fan, and a Pirates fan, as a kid growing up," he said, adding his mother and two sisters still live in the Pittsburgh area.
"I love to go back to the city. I played on an undefeated high school team there . . . That was a great place to grow up and it was a different kind of town then. I worked in the steel mills. I worked five years in the mills.
"If you've ever seen the movie, 'The Deer Hunter,' they filmed that in the steel mill I worked in . . . For me it's a great honor to go back home."
Westhoff said his father played quarterback at Central Catholic High, and that Dan Marino later surpassed his dad's city passing records.
