It was a snowstorm that created a blizzard of controversy here in Foxborough last season.

In December 2009 four Patriots players – including prominent stars Randy Moss and Adalius Thomas – were sent home after arriving at Gilllette Stadium late for an 8 a.m. meeting. They claimed to have been stuck in snow and traffic.

So with nearly 20 inches of snow expected to fall here Tuesday night into Wednesday, the players are already preparing to be making their way to work tomorrow.

“We’ll be here on time,” receiver Deion Branch said. “I think all the guys may need to leave their homes a little early this year. I heard about the thing that happened in the past, so we don’t need that to show up. This is not the time for that.”

Of the four players sent home last season, only one – linebacker Gary Guyton – is still with the team this year.
