It's no secret the Bills are unsettled at the quarterback position, even if rookie head coach Chan Gailey has indicated that Trent Edwards has the inside track on the starting job.
Now there's another interesting twist to the plot: Florida quarterback Tim Tebow dined last night with Bills Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly. The news was "broken" by Kelly's wife, Jill, who wrote on her twitter account: "JK is on his way home from having dinner with #Tim Tebow. I can't wait to get the full scoop! Can't wait for draft day!"
JK didn't give her the scoop — at least not for public consumption — but Jill did tweet later in the evening: "I wish I could say more. If only I were there too! LOL! It was a great night! Now before U go 2 bed — pray for our Buffalo Bills!"
In other words, pray the Bills get Tebow (pictured at his pro day two weeks ago) and anoint him their quarterback of the future.
Still too soon to say exactly what the Bills will do, but it's a stretch to think they'll spend the No. 9 overall pick on Tebow, who is now being projected by most scouts as a second- or third-round pick. Buffalo has a glaring need on the offensive line, and the expectation is they'll take one of the draft's handful of highly rated tackles with the first pick. But that doesn't mean they can't grab Tebow with their second-round pick, or else trade up a few spots from there to get the Florida star.
