McNabb-Vikings deal in the works

The Vikings and Redskins are working out a deal that would send the 34-year-old quarterback to Minnesota. The trade is contingent on McNabb restructuring his contract, which pays him $12.5 million in 2011.

McNabb was traded last year from the Eagles to the Redskins for a second-round pick, but he eventually lost his starting job to Rex Grossman. The Redskins plan to use John Beck as the starter in 2011, making McNabb expendable.

The Vikings selected Florida State quarterback Christian Ponder in the first round of the 2011 draft, but McNabb would become the immediate starter if he agrees to the trade. FoxSports' Jay Glazer reports the Redskins will receive a sixth-round pick in 2012 and a conditional sixth-rounder in 2013 if the deal goes through.
