With most of the Cleveland Browns' starters sitting out Thursday night's preseason finale against the Chicago Bears, Miguel Maysonet had a chance to potentially make some noise.
Unfortunately for the Long Islander, he didn't see the field much.
Maysonet had one catch for one yard in the Browns' 18-16 win over the Bears at Soldier Field. The running back did not record a carry.
The Riverhead native and Stony Brook graduate finished the preseason with 13 carries for 30 yards and three carries for 14 yards.
After a prolific career at the high school and college levels, Maysonet went undrafted in the 2013 NFL draft. The Philadelphia Eagles signed him to a rookie free agent deal following the draft but waived him shortly thereafter. The Browns then claimed Maysonet, where he has been battling with Montario Hardesty, Dion Lewis, Brandon Jackson, Chris Ogbonnaya and Jamaine Cook for the opportunity to back up starting running back Trent Richardson.
Cook led the Browns in rushing on Thursday night, gaining 28 yards on 12 carries. Jackson, the only other running back to record a carry for the Browns, had five carries for five yards.
