Movement in Chris Johnson talks?

Today could be a pivotal moment in the stalled negotiations with Titans running back Chris Johnson, who continues to push for a new contract.

Johnson and his agent, Joel Segal, flew to Nashville last night for what could be a key meeting today with Titans officials.

Johnson has two years left on his contract and is scheduled to make a shade over $1 million this season. He was initially scheduled to earn $850,000 this year, but the Titans tweaked the deal last year. Even so, it's not enough to convince Johnson to participate in training camp. The Titans now say they'll make him the highest paid running game in the game, but would only do so if he reported to camp.

That's why today's meeting could be important in the talks, although Johnson said last night he wasn't sure what would happen, and that there was a chance negotiations could falter.

Johnson has led teh NFL in rushing yards the past three seasons.
