Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh, who only last week reminded his teammates in a players' only meeting that they needed to refrain from gratuitous hits against opponents, has been fined a whopping $100,000 for his low block on Viking center John Sullivan.

The block occurred on an interception return during the Lions' win over the Vikings on Sunday. Sullivan escaped serious injury.

Suh was notified of the fine by NFL vice president of football operations Merton Hanks. He has now been fined five times in two-plus seasons in the NFL. Director of football operations Ray Anderson had raised the possibility of a suspension on Monday, but the league decided on one of the biggest fines in NFL history instead.
