The first round of the 2010 NFL Draft is in the books. The three most exciting points from tonight are of course the Jets, Giants, and the resurrection of Tim Tebow (pictured).
The Giants were a very interesting storyline coming into the draft. Spiller and McClain were the big names linked to the Giants but neither stuck around long enough for the Giants to grab. Jason Pierre-Paul will make an impact on a team that is desperate for defensive help. Because the Giants are in such need for defense, almost anything he does to help will be a plus.
The Jets also went the defensive route, which is not shocking when Rex Ryan is your head coach. Kyle Wilson will have an immediate impact on this Jets team with the guidance of Rex Ryan. Darrelle Revis now has a partner in crime.
The biggest story of the day comes from Tebow and how he was drafted at 25 by the Broncos. Many people wrote Tebow off in the weeks leading up to tonight, and rightfully so. As for Tebow’s future, it could be a while before that chapter begins.
On a personal note, this was my first NFL Draft and it was amazing. Rounds two and three are tomorrow at 6 p.m.
