-- Chip Kelly’s cell phone went off during his Friday press conference as he was discussing the previous night’s loss to the Chiefs. After taking several seconds to turn off the phone, the coach quipped: “I can’t even get the press conference straight.”

-- Steelers are hopeful tight end Heath Miller returns on Sunday from a knee injury. Ben Roethlisberger can’t have enough offensive weapons, as evidenced by the fact the Steelers have scored only one touchdown in each of their first two games.

-- Bengals offensive coordinator Jay Gruden loves rookie running back Giovani Bernard, to the point where the coach will split the carries almost 50-50 between Bernard and starter BenJarvus Green-Ellis.

-- How bad is the Jaguars’ offense? So bad that Jacksonville punter Bryan Anger has 19 punts in two games, the most in the first two weeks of an NFL season for a non-expansion team. Ouch.

-- Anxious to see student vs. teacher on Sunday, when Colts quarterback Andrew Luck goes up against his old college coach, Jim Harbaugh. Suspect the addition of running back Trent Richardson will have a positive effect on Luck, who will be under heavy pressure from the 49ers’ front seven.
