Well, that didn't take long.
Broncos rookie quarterback Tim Tebow, who scored a 7-yard touchdown off a scramble on the final play of Sunday night's preseason game against the Bengals, has a case of bruised ribs.
Tebow missed his first practice of training camp today after he jogged off the field during warmups. The Broncos wouldn't say what was wrong with the first-round pick from Florida, but Tebow was wearing a flak jacket for the first time and he left practice after about 10 minutes of warmups.
Tebow's injury is sure to reignite debate about whether he can use the same style of play in the NFL that he employed at Florida. Tebow was as good a runner as he was a passer, but that just won't cut it in a league where he can't afford to expose himself to the kind of injury that he experienced on Sunday.
Tebow will have to learn just like Mark Sanchez did last year. Sanchez suffered a knee injury against the Bills when he opted not to slide, incurring the wrath of head coach Rex Ryan. Sanchez underwent off-season surgery as a result of the injury.
