Coming off his first loss of the season against his old team in Indianapolis, Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning is sitting out practice today in Denver.
While it's not unusual for some veterans to miss a practice here or there, it is unusual for Manning to miss any practice time.
According to Jeff Legwold of ESPN.com, Manning has a "minor" ankle injury, and that's the reason for his absence.
It apparently does not have anything to do with any arm issues that might have resulted from a big hit he suffered in Sunday night's game against the Colts. Indy defensive end Robert Mathis had a huge blind-side hit in the second quarter, which led to a fumble and a safety.
According to Legwold, Manning is expected to practice tomorrow.
You can exhale now, Denver fans.
