Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning, who is off to a scorching start in getting the Broncos out to a 4-0 record, has been named the AFC Player of the Month for September.
No surprise at all. Manning threw for 1,470 yards and a whopping 16 touchdowns - the most ever in the first four games of a season - and didn't throw a single interception. He tied an NFL record with seven touchdown passes in the opener.
Manning has now won the AFC Player of the Month award seven times, including three with the Broncos.
Denver is at the Cowboys this Sunday, with the Giants needing the win almost as badly as the Broncos. After all, if the Giants beat the Iggles on Sunday and Denver beats the Cowboys, the Giants are just a game out of first place in the awful NFC East.
