No one is mistaking Vonnie Holliday for Albert Haynesworth (pictured, left). But it is notable that the Redskins have added the 13-year veteran defensive tackle to an already crowded defensive line, especially in light of Haynesworth's continued unhappiness at playing for new head coach Mike Shanahan.
Holliday's arrival was first reported by ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Haynesworth is staying away from all voluntary activities with the team, much to the chagrin of team owner Daniel Snyder, who publicly admitted disapointment in a player who earned a $100 million contract last year.
The Redskins have been linked to a potential deal for Haynesworth to the Vikings, and the addition of Holliday, a former first-round pick of the Packers, only reinforces the idea that Haynesworth might be one-and-done in D.C.
Ross Tucker of SI.com/Sirius NFL Radio/SportsUSA Radio/FOX/YES — and presumably any other freelance gig he can get his mitts on — says he believes the Haynesworth to the Vikings trade is still alive.
