Darrelle Revis says the living is easy in his new digs in Tampa, where the laid back atmosphere is much to his liking. Especially after the last few controversy-filled years in New York.

“Going to Tampa is great. I look at it as a new chapter in my football career,” Revis said in an interview with the Beaver County (Pa.) Times during his second annual football clinic at Aliquippa High School, his alma mater. “The organization’s great. It’s real laid back down there. It’s not a lot of pressure as it is in New York.”

Revis emerged as arguably the league’s best cornerback in New York, but the intense media scrutiny eventually wore on him. Revis was traded to the Bucs in April in exchange for a first-round pick in 2013 and a conditional fourth-round pick in 2014. The Jets get a third-round pick next year if Revis remains on the Bucs’ roster.

“It can be tough,” he said of the New York market. “I got drafted as a junior and I didn’t know anything about New York or about the media, coming from being born here and going to the University of Pittsburgh. It’s a different market. I accepted it. I just wanted to play football.

“The next thing you know you’re a celebrity, and it’s like, ‘OK … I just play football,” Revis said. “You’ve got to be mature about it.”

Revis is still recovering from knee surgery last year, but indications are good he’ll be ready for the season opener against the Jets. He likes what he sees with the Bucs, especially newly acquired safety Dashon Goldson, the former 49ers’ star.

“He is the best safety in the league, as of today. And I’m saying that boldly,” Revis said of Goldson. “No knock on Troy (Polamalu) and all of those guys, but he’s the best, and he’s only in his eighth year, which is awesome. He’s Batman. I’m Robin.”
