Rex to Dungy: Come to practice

Interesting reaction from Jets head coach Rex Ryan in the wake of criticism from former Colts head coach Tony Dungy about Ryan's liberal use of expletives, as seen in last week's first episode of HBO's "Hard Knocks."

Ryan has invited Dungy to a Jets' practice, according to Jenny Vrentas of the Star-Ledger in a twitter post, telling reporters, "I'm a good person."

I'll bet Dungy takes Ryan up on that. Dungy, a man who is always eager to engage in discussion, even when it involves controversial subjects, is certain to at least consider the idea. And I'd be surprised if Dungy doesn't get a different view of Rex if he decides to visit with the Jets' head coach.

Dungy also believes that NFL commissioner Roger Goodell should address Ryan over his frequent use of the F-word to his players, although that's not going to happen. As NFL senior vice president of communications Greg Aiello told us last week, "Ryan's mother took care of it," a reference to Ryan receiving a call from his mother after the show was aired.
