There has been much debate about Peyton Manning’s future, and now actor Rob Lowe is weighing in and playing NFL insider for a day.

On Lowe’s twitter account - @RobLowe – he writes, “Hearing my fave, #18 Peyton Manning will not return to #NFL. Wow.” He later wrote: "#Colts fans, let’s hope my info is wrong. Don't like being wrong, but this time... I'm hoping."

The Colts had no comment, but team owner Jim Irsay, offered what may have been a cryptic response that indicated there’s nothing going on. At least for now.

“Nothing’s changed, but the surrounding bullsh#t…that has grown!” Irsay tweeted on his account, @JimIrsay.

The Colts are still waiting to see if Manning’s neck is sufficiently healed from two surgical procedures last year to allow him to return to the field. Manning is due a $28 million bonus on March 8, and it’s uncertain if the Colts will pay it if there is more uncertainty about his neck. If he is not paid the bonus, Manning would be released.

The Colts also have the No. 1 overall draft pick and are expected to take Stanford quarterback Andrew Luck.
